Viscose Fiber and Yarn Market Prices in Pakistan

21 January 2009 - Viscose fiber prices fell in the past weeks in Pakistan over power shortages limiting demand from the domestic textile industry. Yarn prices stayed however unchanged, due to the reduction in textile production, our Correspondent reports.

23 December 2008 - Spun yarn export prices are falling again in India, especially for cotton and polyester-cotton yarns, according to statistical tables released by our India Correspondent. The business is becoming extremely difficult for exporters, with buyers now renegotiating orders to take advantage of lower prices. Government incentives are not offering enough support to the cotton textile industry, according to exporters.

Labour and transport costs are no more rising in India however, while raw material prices relatively fell. The rupee's decline and some financial support from the government are also expected supporting apparel sales to international buyers in the coming period, as export prices will be further reduced, our India Correspondent reports.
