PTA Prices Are Surging in Asia

5 February 2009 - PTA prices surged on Thursday in Asia after China unveiled a textile plan for supporting its ailing domestic industry. The rebound in raw material costs led to a 400-yuan increase in polyester prices in the post-holiday period in China. Inventories had previously been lowered to very low levels, leaving room for the current jump in prices.
